Weekly Focus: Springtime in the Sunshine – Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot

Epcot in Bloom

Each Spring, Epcot comes alive with Springtime colour and flavours! The Flower and Garden Festival normally runs from the beginning of March through to the end of May. The festival is bursting with farm-to-table flavors, brilliant blooms, interactive playgrounds, exhibits and special entertainment including concerts on select dates.

Springtime Celebration

The Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park is an annual celebration of Spring. The park comes to life in vivid colours with plants and decorations specially set up for the festival. As well as planters and vivid flower arrangements, topiaries of some much loved familiar faces are present around the park. The video to the left shows how these impressive pieces are assembled.
As well as the stunning floral exhibits, there are also tea gardens, a butterfly walkthrough attraction, masterclasses with professionals and more!

Farm-to-Table

As with most Epcot festivals, you are able to experience culinary dishes from around the world. The Flower and Garden festival boasts a Farm-to-Table food experience, demonstrating fresh dishes themed to each country in World Showcase. This is in addition to various other food stands such as Pineapple Promenade, serving dishes all featuring, you guessed it - pineapple! As well as small plates, the booths also offer both alchoholic and non-alcoholic beverages such as craft beers, bubble tea, tequila and more.

Garden Rocks!

Taking centre stage on select nights, "Garden Rocks" features on the America Gardens Theatre stage on select nights during the festival. The music featured is some of the best from the 1960s, ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s so you can be sure that there will be something for the whole family. Acts for 2017 include The Pointer Sisters, Plain White Ts and Simple Plan. Be sure to check the schedule for the entire festival as there are usually several concerts lined up with acts doing a few nights each!
